Botswana · Okavango Panhandle · 28 November – 2 December 2026
The Okavango Awakening
A 4-night, all-inclusive wellness retreat at Nxamaseri Island Lodge. Daily yoga with Kerrith O’Fee, sound healing on the water, and a night beneath the stars at the sacred Tsodilo Hills — two UNESCO World Heritage Sites in one journey.
Where the Delta Begins
The Okavango Panhandle is where the Okavango River first enters Botswana, fanning out through papyrus-lined channels before flooding the famous delta to the south. It is quieter, more remote, and home to extraordinary birdlife, hippos, crocodiles, and the ancient Tsodilo Hills.
This is not a traditional Big Five safari. It is something rarer — a water-based wilderness retreat built around sunrise yoga overlooking the lagoon, sound healing carried by boat onto the river, mindful workshops, and the profound stillness that comes from moving slowly through one of Africa’s last untouched waterways.
Over four nights you’ll move between two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Okavango Delta itself, and the sacred Tsodilo Hills, where over 4,000 ancient San rock paintings adorn Botswana’s highest peak.
Kerrith O’Fee
Your retreat is hosted throughout by Kerrith O’Fee, founder of Victoria Falls Yoga. A registered yoga instructor with a background in psychology, Kerrith has spent nearly a decade curating transformative wellness spaces in the African bush, leading every session with warmth and authenticity.
“It’s a blend of local life, ancient culture, and the slow, peaceful rhythms of the Okavango Panhandle. Even the lodge itself, with its towering jackalberry trees and palms, feels like a hidden sanctuary.”
Kerrith teaches every yoga, breathwork, meditation, and sound healing session across the retreat, and you’ll also enjoy private one-on-one wellness consultations with her for tailored guidance. Open to beginner and intermediate yogis.
Nxamaseri Island Lodge
Set on a private, forested island in the permanent waters of the Okavango Panhandle, Nxamaseri is one of the oldest and most loved lodges in the delta. Just eight chalets sit beneath the canopy, each on its own teak deck — and for this retreat, the whole lodge is exclusively ours.
Days flow between the appointed yoga deck over the water, the secluded pool, and the Nxamaseri Wellness Spa, where treatments use organic products made locally by local women. Boat safaris, mokoro excursions, guided island walks, birding, basket weaving, and catch-and-release tiger fishing are all included.
Tsodilo Hills Sleep-Out
An hour from the lodge, the mystical Tsodilo Hills rise out of the Kalahari — Botswana’s highest point and a UNESCO World Heritage Site sacred to the San people. For one unforgettable night, the private sleep-out camp is ours alone.
The evening unfolds with a traditional dance ceremony led by a local San Bushman group, fire meditation, and a meditation session beneath some of the darkest night skies on earth. At sunrise, a guided sunrise hike up Male Hill grounds the journey before a walking tour of rock paintings that date back thousands of years.
Your Journey
A gentle rhythm of movement, stillness, and discovery. Every session is optional — this is your retreat, at your pace.
